Our Wellness Department staff will run many events and ceremonies this month. More details about all of them are below.

Sweat Lodge Ceremonies

Nisga’a citizens are invited to attend two sweat lodge ceremonies. If you can, please bring any of the following offerings for our ancestors: Tobacco, sweet grass, sage, cedar, devils club, food or wood.
We’re still confirming the location for the ceremonies. Once it’s established, we’ll share it on our channels.
1st Ceremony
Date: Saturday, April 13
Time: Begins at 1 pm (ceremony kicks off at 3 pm)
Location: TBD

2nd Ceremony
Date: Sunday, April 28
Time: Begins at 1 pm (ceremony starts at 3 pm)
Location:
TBD
Please note this is a substance-free event. Also, to comply with Nisga’a cultural protocols, we ask people who are pregnant or on their moon time to not attend. We hold other ceremonies for these people often.
If you need a ride to the sweat lodge ceremonies or want more details, please contact William at william.morrison@nisgaahealth.bc.ca.

Young Men and Men’s Healing Camp

Men aged 16 and up are invited to participate in a three-day healing camp. The camp location is still being determined. Once it’s confirmed, we’ll post it here and on our other channels.
Participants will learn traditional land-based healing activities and Indigenous perspectives on wellness, both of which will help them move forward on their healing journey.
