I deeply appreciate the opportunity to work within Nisga’a Community, in governance for the Nisga’a Valley Health Authority. I am grateful for the warm welcome I receive in the communities of the beautiful Nass Valley each time I visit. It is an honour to be appointed as Board Chair and it will be a pleasure to watch the development of the health authority for years to come. I am a lifelong resident of British Columbia and live now in Prince George, after spending time in 100 Mile House, Kamloops and Dawson Creek. I’m the mother of three grown children and I am a nurse. I enjoyed my time in clinical nursing and lately stay involved in governance, advocacy and policy work, all in health care. In addition to my work with the NVHA Board of Directors, I work as a policy analyst for the provincial nursing association. I also lend my knowledge of practice in provincial regulation of nurses. At home in Prince George, I enjoy my home-office work, staying in touch with friends and colleagues, enjoying close relationships with my kids and my beautiful Granddaughter, Charlotte.
