Wage: $26.86/hour
Job Summary
Provide clerical tasks for the successful administration of medical supplies and equipment claims; as a requirement of the Nisga’a Health Services Delivery Agreement with the Nisga’a Nation, and in compliance with the HEU Collective Agreement.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assess and process claims
- Assess and process exception pharmaceutical requests and Ambulance Billings.
- Maintain accurate client records / files and updates Database
- Provides explanation for all related NHB Policy/Process to patients as required.
- Carries out basic reception duties as required
- Ensures best financial practices are employed throughout all associated processes
- Ensures all processes are cost effective and meeting the needs of the Nisga’a Nation
- Prioritizes medical supplies and equipment requests, while ensuring all claims are processed according to policy timeframes
- Develops respectful and empathetic relationships with clients while providing exceptional customer service
- Provides month-end reports and annual reports to the Director.
- Resolution of conflict using appropriate skills and abilities
- Responsible for organizing work and meeting deadlines.
- Provide other related duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 completion or equivalent
- Minimum one year relevant work experience in a related field
- a proficiency in data entry tasks
- Effective Communication skills: communicates in a clear and practical manner both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient Computer Skills (Microsoft Office software) relevant to the position and ability to operate office equipment
- Ability to work independently and to work respectfully and cooperatively with other people and agencies
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Knowledge of the Nisga’a Language and Culture would be an asset.
- Current criminal record check.
